The C.A. Johnson Hornets lost against the Lewisville Lions back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. C.A. Johnson received a tough blow as they fell 45-27 to the Lions. C.A. Johnson has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Lewisville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiyana Murrell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Murrell is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Mariah Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
C.A. Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Lewisville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
C.A. Johnson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lewisville, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Governor's School for Science & Math is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
