The Loveland Tigers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 50-39 win over Mercy McAuley on Saturday. The victory was just what Loveland needed coming off of a 61-27 loss in their prior match.
Loveland found their leader in underclassman Katy Wilber, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Anna Proano-raps, who scored 7 points.
Despite the defeat, Mercy McAuley had strong showings from Sarah Enginger, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Jordyn Leary, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds. Leary is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Loveland's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Mercy McAuley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loveland will take on Little Miami at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Little Miami is ranked 283rd, while Loveland is ranked 264th). As for Mercy McAuley, they will be playing at home against Mount Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
