4A Region II District 11 recap Oct. 9, 2012
South Oak Cliff extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region II District 11 this week by beating Pinkston, 42-8. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Bears.
Carter moved up to 342 from 393 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cowboys climbed the ranks as a result of a 21-17 win over Adamson.
North Dallas's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jason Medellin threw for 58 yards and Geovanni Manning had 32 yards receiving. On the ground John Jones chipped in 50 yards. Javante Haynes helped North Dallas' passing attack out by catching two balls for 12 yards.
North Dallas' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Medellin has thrown for 822 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Jeremiah Gantt has 30 catches for 290 yards. Jones leads the league in rushing with 442 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region II District 11 this week will be when South Oak Cliff takes on Seagoville. At the moment, Kendall Miller's team is in first, while the Dragons are in fifth.
Seagoville was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in the league. Andy Gutierrez's team defeated Molina 24-14 earlier in the week.
