The Maplewood Rockets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lordstown 57-5 on the road. That looming 57-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Maplewood yet this season.
Maplewood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Himes led the charge by scoring 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Aliah Brumit was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven steals.
Maplewood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.33 points. As for Lordstown, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maplewood will square off against Lakeview at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lakeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday. As for Lordstown, they will head out on the road to face off against Bristol at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bristol has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
