The Orangeville Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Eastland with a sharp 43-21 win on Monday. Orangeville's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Leading Orangeville to victory were Laney Cahoon and Whitney Sullivan. Cahoon scored 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Sullivan dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Cahoon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadalee Doyle, who scored six points along with three steals.
Orangeville pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Eastland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Orangeville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pearl City at 8:00 p.m. on December 12th. Pearl City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 541st, while Orangeville is ranked 35th). As for Eastland, they will head out on the road to face off against River Ridge/Scales Mound at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. River Ridge/Scales Mound's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Eastland's offense will have their work cut out for Eastland.
