Arcadia/Loup City and South Loup are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against South Loup on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Arcadia/Loup City has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while South Loup will arrive with eight straight victories.
Arcadia/Loup City struggled with offensive rebounds last Friday (Central City had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The match between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Arcadia/Loup City falling 50-31. They have not had much luck with Central City recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite their loss, Arcadia/Loup City saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Max Lewandowski, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Trey Vanslyke was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists.
Arcadia/Loup City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, South Loup was able to grind out a solid victory over Bertrand last Saturday, taking the game 60-49. Given South Loup's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Bertrand is ranked 176th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Arcadia/Loup City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for South Loup, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Arcadia/Loup City took a serious blow against South Loup when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 58-24. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Arcadia/Loup City was down 35-9.
