Basketball Recap: Key West Piles Up the Points Against Coral Shores

Key West won the last time they faced Coral Shores and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Key West Conchs breezed by the Coral Shores Hurricanes to the tune of 59-23. The Conchs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Key West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tramane Scott out in front who posted eight points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was James Osborne, who put up seven points.

Key West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Key West has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Coral Shores, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Key West and Somerset Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coral Shores, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palmer Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
