For the fourth time in six years, Florida finished with the most former high school players selected in the 2023 NFL Draft with 36. Texas had the second-most selections with 30 followed by Georgia (23) and California (21).
California was the only other state to have at least 20 selections headlined by
Bryce Young (Panthers) and
C.J. Stroud (Texans). It was the first time any state had the first two selections in the NFL Draft since 2012 when Texas accomplished that feat when Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III went back-to-back.
In total, 38 states along with the District of Columbia had at least one selection.
