The Clifton-Clyde Eagles will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Onaga Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clifton-Clyde has six straight wins, Onaga has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Clifton-Clyde gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hanover as Clifton-Clyde made off with a 58-36 win.
Meanwhile, Onaga ended up a good deal behind Doniphan West on Tuesday and lost 47-33.
Despite the loss, Onaga saw an underclassman step up: Casen Hutfles almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hutfles has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rayce Fisher, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Clifton-Clyde pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.5 points. As for Onaga, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Clifton-Clyde took their victory against Onaga in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 60-36. With Clifton-Clyde ahead 42-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
