The Combs Coyotes won the last time they faced the Poston Butte Broncos, and things went their way on Friday too. Combs secured a 54-50 W over Poston Butte.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Combs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johnathon Byaus, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Byaus has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Tuckfield, who scored 16 points.
Combs is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Poston Butte, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Combs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mountain Pointe at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Poston Butte, Poston Butte and Arizona College Prep will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Arizona College Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
