The Pennington Red Raiders had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Neshaminy by a score of 77-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Neshaminy's loss came despite strong showings from Emeer Coombs and Nate Townsend. Coombs scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds, while Townsend scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Currie, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Pennington's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Neshaminy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Pennington will head out on the road to face off against Holy Ghost Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neshaminy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Strath Haven at 5:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
