Stanwood has won four straight games at home, while Monroe has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Spartans will host the Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Stanwood's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
If Stanwood beats Monroe with 12 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Spartans came out on top against Mountlake Terrace by a score of 12-7 on Wednesday.
Megan Stulc and Addison Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Stulc struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Anderson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Stulc went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Anderson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Stulc launched this season.

In other batting news, Stanwood let Jordan Rancourt and Rubi Lopez run wild. Rancourt scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Lopez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Lopez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Reagan Ryan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Stanwood lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Monroe hadn't done well against Snohomish recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bearcats walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Panthers.
Addy Bryant was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Bryant was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Vivian Knuckey was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Jeske, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
Monroe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Stanwood, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Monroe's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stanwood has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Monroe, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Stanwood's sizable advantage in that area, the Bearcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
Stanwood took their win against Monroe in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
