The Baker County Wildcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Stanton Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Baker County beat Bradford 60-50.
Dawson Norman and Jackson Carver were among the main playmakers for Baker County as the former scored 11 points along with three steals and the latter scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Kellen Battles was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Even though Stanton has not done well against Trinity Christian Academy recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Stanton walked away with a 61-51 victory over Trinity Christian Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Stanton.
Baker County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Stanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Baker County couldn't quite finish off Stanton when the teams last played back in December of 2015 and fell 46-43. Can Baker County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
