In what's become a running theme this season, the Hodgeman County Longhorns gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 55-28 victory over Pawnee Heights at home. Given Hodgeman County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Pawnee Heights is ranked 174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Morgan Ruff, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Taylor Bamberger was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Hodgeman County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Pawnee Heights, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Hodgeman County will stay at home for another game and welcome Ingalls at 11:30 a.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Ingalls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. Pawnee Heights won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Central on January 26th.
