The Simi Valley Pioneers waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Royal by a score of 58-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Simi Valley also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Ryder Mjoen, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Mjoen is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Justin Rener, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, Royal still got an impressive performance from Ace Arnold, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Hill, who scored eight points.
Simi Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Royal, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Oak Park the next time they take the court. Simi Valley will head out to face Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Royal will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
