The Lake Mary Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Seminole Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Mary knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Seminole likes a good challenge.
Lake Mary stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Apopka 49-21 on the road. Given Lake Mary's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Apopka is ranked 55th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Mary relied on the efforts of Noah Grubbs, who threw for 367 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and Isaiah Thomas, who gained 145 total yards and four touchdowns. Grubbs is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. Lake Mary also got help from Caden Harshbarger who showed off his sure hands for 92 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Seminole's strategy against Lake Brantley on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Seminole blew Lake Brantley out of the water with a 48-0 final score. The win made it back-to-back wins for Seminole.
Karson Siqueiros-Lasky had a dynamite game for Seminole, throwing for 273 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Michael Key did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 74 receiving yards.
Lake Mary's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.9 points per game. As for Seminole, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Lake Mary didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Seminole in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 12-8 win. Will Lake Mary repeat their success, or does Seminole have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
