The Twiggs County Cobras have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 27-15 victory over Dooly County on Saturday. For Twiggs County, this counts as revenge for the 34-33 defeat Dooly County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Twiggs County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaida Pearson, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Shafrasia Young, who scored two points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Twiggs County's win bumped their record up to 3-20. As for Dooly County, their defeat was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17.
Twiggs County will play host again and welcome Johnson County, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson County will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Twiggs County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dooly County, they will head out on the road to take on Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dooly County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
