Elk City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 79-30 win over Clinton. Given Elk City's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Clinton is ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Bethany stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Anadarko 64-32 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Bethany as they're now sitting on three straight.
Zya Vann and Keziah Lofton were among the main playmakers for Bethany as the former scored 15 points along with seven steals and five assists and the latter scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lofton has scored all season. Talia Vann was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Elk City's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Bethany, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Elk City took a serious blow against Bethany when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 88-51. Can Elk City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
