Even though the Ware Shoals Hornets scored an imposing 76 points on Friday, the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes still came out on top. Calhoun Falls Charter walked away with an 84-76 win over the Hornets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Calhoun Falls Charter also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Ware Shoals' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Medlin, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Jayce Medlin, who scored 15 points along with seven assists.
Calhoun Falls Charter has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Ware Shoals, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Calhoun Falls Charter and the Chiefs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McCormick presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Blue Flashes in South Carolina (the Chiefs are ranked 97th, while the Blue Flashes are ranked 208th). As for Ware Shoals, they will head out on the road to take on the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ Church Episcopal will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
