Capital Christian moved up to 509 from 538 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Golden Empire.
Dixon extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mira Loma, 22-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Mesa Verde's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Worthington threw for nine yards and Sebastian Daransky had nine yards receiving. On the ground Christian Garcia chipped in 112 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Worthington and Garcia the Mavericks have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Worthington leads the league in passing with 184 yards, while Garcia has rushed for 755 yards this season. Dixon's Chad Baptiste leads the league in receiving yards with 85 on four catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Dixon takes on second place Capital Christian. Wes Besseghini's team beat the Matadors last week, while the Cougars.

The Rams and Mira Loma played the most hotly contested game in Golden Empire this week, with the Rams eventually emerging with a 22-20 victory.
