Rochester has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Pleasant Plains Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rochester has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Rochester posted their biggest win since December 11, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Lanphier, posting a 58-27 win at home.
Rochester got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ellie Gegen out in front who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Offer, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Plains came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Williamsville 60-18 on the road. Pleasant Plains has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Rochester's win bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Pleasant Plains, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Rochester came out on top in a nail-biter against Pleasant Plains in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, sneaking past 40-38. Will Rochester repeat their success, or does Pleasant Plains have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
