The Vistamar Vikings can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They took down Samueli Academy 33-18. The win was just what Vistamar needed coming off of a 66-31 defeat in their prior contest.
Samueli Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennedy Cortez, who scored eight points. Cortez scored a full 44.4% of Samueli Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Janai Bullock, who scored five points.
Vistamar's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Samueli Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vistamar will take on Geffen Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Samueli Academy, they will play host again and welcome Legacy College Prep, where tip off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
