The North Hardin Trojans will head out to challenge the Larue County Hawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Hardin has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
North Hardin managed to slip by Campbellsville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. North Hardin lost 11-2 to Campbellsville on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.
North Hardin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Lirot, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Kaleb Eisenman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Larue County never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bardstown on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Tigers. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Brady Abell and Cole Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Abell tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Miller kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. At the plate, Abell scored a run and stole a base, while Miller scored a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Brady Skaggs was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Dekker Thomas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Larue County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for North Hardin, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-3.
Everything went North Hardin's way against Larue County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as North Hardin made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Hardin since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
