The Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) will square off against the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Uvalde is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Pearsall on Friday as they made off with a 17-6 win. The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Jose Hurtado made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

The result came thanks to Bryan Cardenas's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emmett Nettles, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Guevara, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Uvalde hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Floresville struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Uvalde suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Floresville in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
