The Dunbar Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-18 win over Western Hills. Given Dunbar's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 484th, while Western Hills is ranked 1323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Dallas Henry, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists. The matchup was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan McIntosh, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Dunbar has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Western Hills, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Dunbar is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Diamond Hill-Jarvis is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Western Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Eastern Hills at 6:00 p.m.
