The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Barnwell Warhorses at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Wednesday, Ridgeland-Hardeeville suffered a tough 56-36 loss at the hands of the Hurricanes. Ridgeland-Hardeeville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Barnwell came into Saturday's matchup having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over Blackville-Hilda on Saturday. Barnwell's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Barnwell found their leader in underclassman Kaylen Mayes, who scored 26 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Mayes has scored at least a third of Barnwell's points. J'Niyia Carree was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Barnwell, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.
Everything came up roses for Ridgeland-Hardeeville against the Warhorses in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 67-40 win. Will Ridgeland-Hardeeville repeat their success, or do the Warhorses have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
