With a playoff win on the line, Fayetteville rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against the D'Hanis Cowboys as they made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jack Schley made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI.
In other batting news, Easton Jaeger was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
The victory (which was Fayetteville's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for D'Hanis, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-8 record.
As of now, neither Fayetteville nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
