Calhoun Falls Charter has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the McCormick Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Calhoun Falls Charter humbled the Saints with a 85-20 victory.
Meanwhile, McCormick can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-27 victory over South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind on the road. Given McCormick's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Hornets are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jamari Morton had an outrageously good game as he scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Darius Houston was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
Calhoun Falls Charter now has a winning record of 9-8. As for McCormick, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
Calhoun Falls Charter came up short against the Chiefs when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 60-51. Can Calhoun Falls Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
