The Reno Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 42-29 to Reed. Reno was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Reed apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Kindle Rowe and Blake Wallace certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Rowe dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds, while Wallace scored four points along with five rebounds. Rowe hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Reed to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jazmyn Wright, who scored 13 points. Amanda Narcise was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Reno dropped their record down to 9-12 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Reed, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reno will take on Damonte Ranch at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Reno focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. As for Reed, they will be playing at home against Carson at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson will be up against Reed's rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
