The Yulee Hornets pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Snyder. Yulee has not had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Yulee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macey Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Reynolds has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rheyna Hilton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Yulee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Bishop Snyder's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Asya Jones, who scored 21 points along with seven steals. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mi'Onna Green, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Yulee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Bishop Snyder, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9.
Yulee will take on the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Parker comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bishop Snyder, they will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Nyrie Gabriel and Jones.
