On Wednesday, Cleveland Heights had to suffer through a rough 84-36 loss at the hands of SPIRE Institute. Cleveland Heights was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-17.
Paige Swoope and Skylar McCall certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Swoope scored 12 points, while McCall scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. McCall scored a full 27.8% of Cleveland Heights' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
This is the second loss in a row for Cleveland Heights and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for SPIRE Institute, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cleveland Heights will take on Medina at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. SPIRE Institute will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brush at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
