O'Neill has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the West Holt Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully O'Neill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
O'Neill struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Tuesday (Norfolk Catholic was 25% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. O'Neill took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norfolk Catholic.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Presley Heiss, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, West Holt scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Neligh-Oakdale 64-37 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory West Holt has posted against Neligh-Oakdale since January 27, 2018.
O'Neill has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for West Holt, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
O'Neill couldn't quite finish off West Holt in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 and fell 40-38. Can O'Neill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
