Rio Hondo Prep and Quartz Hill squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Rio Hondo Prep had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of 3-2. The Kares' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Rio Hondo Prep started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 26-28, 25-21, 25-18, 15-13.

Rainn Pollock paced Rio Hondo Prep's offense, picking up 27 kills. Pollock got some help from Ethan Lo and his 32 assists. Landry Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
