It was a good run, but the Vero Beach Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. Vero Beach found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 26 to ten on offense.
Despite the loss, Vero Beach still got an impressive performance from Camryn Reid, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Reid scored 15 or more points. Davionne Stinson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AQUNAIS WEST out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was HARMON RANDOLPH, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Vero Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vero Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Treasure Coast at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Treasure Coast is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Okeechobee at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Okeechobee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Central is ranked 97th).
