If the Altamonte Christian Eagles were riding high off their 61-16 takedown of the Liberty Christian Prep Lions on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Altamonte Christian took a 43-26 bruising from Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Altamonte Christian has scored all season.
Altamonte Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alexis Hill, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds. Hill hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Cooper, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savannah Schultz, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Schultz hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alinah Sarratt, who scored 14 points.
Altamonte Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Altamonte Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Lake Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Buena Vista is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount Dora Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
