Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Takes a Loss

Providence Classical lost against NorthPoint Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Providence Classical Paladins lost to the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks at home by a 69-51 margin. The Paladins were down 55-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Providence Classical saw an underclassman step up: freshman Grafton Eiff went 11 for 20 on his way to 36 points in addition to eight assists and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eiff has scored all season.

Even though they lost, Providence Classical was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as NorthPoint Christian Academy only posted eight assists.

NorthPoint Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Spann out in front who went 9 of 15 en route to 21 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Enriquez, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Providence Classical dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Classical will face off against Walnut Grove Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, they will square off against Buford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. NorthPoint Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Buford likes a good challenge.
