The Lee Volunteers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past Madison with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. Given Lee's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Madison is ranked 585th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rosanelly Pastrano, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Pastrano hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Debi Hernandez, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Madison's loss came despite strong showings from Yazmin Torrez and Nadia Bailey. Torrez scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Bailey dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Bailey hasn't dropped below three steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Suzette Loera, who scored five points.
Lee pushed their record up to 21-11 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Madison, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-23.
Lee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Madison also has no future games currently scheduled.
