Kossuth had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They got past Independence with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 34-29. That result is just more of the same for Kossuth, who also won the last time these teams played.
No one had a larger role in the success than senior Matthew Bobo, who brought his A game into the match. He accumulated 181 passing yards and punched in 2 rushing TDs. This was the first game for both teams, giving Kossuth a 1-0 record and starting Independence off at 0-1.
Next week, Kossuth take on Ripley at KOSSUTH HS at 7:00 PM. As for Independence, they will face of against Northpoint Christian.
