The Forest Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Lake Minneola Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Forest has three straight wins, Lake Minneola has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Forest had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt DeLand on Wednesday. The Wildcats never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Reagan Quinn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Mahri Lingle was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Naomi Meyer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 7-3 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Lake Minneola faced off against South Lake on Thursday. The Hawks came up short against the Eagles, falling 7-1.
Forest's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Minneola, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Forest's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Wildcats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lake Minneola, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Forest continue to outrun the ball?
