The McDonald's All American Games are fast-approaching, with the boys and girls set to do battle in their respective games on Wednesday, April 2 in Chicago.
The storied history of the event has reached most states in the union, with all but five states having at least one representative at some time. Before we break down how many McDonald's All Americans hail from schools in each state (since 1994), here are a couple quick facts:
* Idaho, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wyoming are the states that have never had a McDonald's All American of either gender.
* On the boys' side, Nebraska and Montana have not had representatives as well, meaning 43 states plus the District of Columbia have had players named.
* On the girls' side, Kansas, New Mexico, New Hampshire, South Dakota, North Dakota and Alaska also have not had representatives. That means 39 states plus Washington, D.C., have had representatives. Considering that the girls game began in 2002, that's a solid spread of accolades.
* The top two for the boys and girls are California and Texas, respectively.
