The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Barnwell Warhorses at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Ridgeland-Hardeeville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Ridgeland-Hardeeville came up short against Eau Claire and fell 55-46.
Despite their defeat, Ridgeland-Hardeeville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Denasia Haynes, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Haynes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaden Exley, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Ridgeland-Hardeeville were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-10, which was the final score in Barnwell's tilt against Silver Bluff on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Barnwell has scored all season.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Barnwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Things could have been worse for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-38 loss to Barnwell when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Ridgeland-Hardeeville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
