The Cheyenne Wells Tigers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Cheraw Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Cheyenne Wells will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Saturday, Cheyenne Wells earned a 47-37 victory over Swink. Given Cheyenne Wells' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Swink is ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cheyenne Wells' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Corey Hill, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Carson Noe, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Hill is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zach Dickey, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Cheraw's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 59-44 bruising from Sierra Grande.
Cheyenne Wells' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Cheraw, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.
Cheyenne Wells beat Cheraw 48-39 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Cheyenne Wells have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cheraw turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
