CHULA VISTA, Calif. -
Eastlake (Chula Vista, Calif.) notched nine points on top of its 25-point lead going into the fourth quarter to win against Poway (Calif.) 41-7.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Dean Klaser in the first quarter, the Titans led 19-0 at the half.
Eastlake grew its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. EHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Isaiah Strayhorn.
Strayhorn and
Traylon Reed ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Titans. Strayhorn scored two touchdowns on the ground and Reed added two as well.
Poway's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Lance Mudd in the third quarter.
The Chula Vista school went into the matchup giving up only 9.8 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Poway, which notched a 35-31 victory over Rancho Bernardo in its previous outing.
