Eastside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Wade Hampton Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Eastside earned a 63-55 win over Laurens.
Eastside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ginny Anne Dumont led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Dumont also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylan Hickman, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Wade Hampton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Riverside by a score of 70-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (57), Wade Hampton still had to take the loss.
Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Wade Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Things could have been worse for Eastside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-46 loss to Wade Hampton when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Eastside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
