The West Valley Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Redding Christian Lions at 5:30 p.m. on December 7th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Colusa scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, West Valley still came out on top. In a tight match that could have gone either way, West Valley made off with a 56-55 win over Colusa. The win was just what West Valley needed coming off of a 81-38 defeat in their prior matchup.
West Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Kalnins, who scored 24 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Kalnins has scored at least 25% of West Valley's points. Jakob Davis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Redding Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past enCompass Academy 51-16 on the road.
Foothill's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while West Valley's loss dropped theirs to 1-3.
Everything came up roses for West Valley against Redding Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 63-34 win. Does West Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Redding Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
