Underclassman Landyn Mangrum came into Friday's matchup looking to prove himself and that's exactly what he did. He wasn't messing around on Friday, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The pitching appearance was his third straight with two or fewer walks.

Mangrum's strong effort led Mt. Zion over North Clayton and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th.
