Even though the Foard Tigers scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, the St. Stephens Indians still came out on top. St. Stephens took their matchup against Foard 76-66. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Stephens.
St. Stephens' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hayden Hillman, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists. Hillman hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah VanBeurden, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Foard lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aiden Ollis, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Ollis scored 15 or more points. Graham Orndoff was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds.
Foard struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as St. Stephens pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
St. Stephens now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Foard, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
St. Stephens will head out on the road to face off against West Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Iredell is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Foard will take on North Iredell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
