Baseball Recap: Antelope Has No Trouble Against Grant

Antelope won the last time they faced Grant and things went their way on Friday too. Antelope put the hurt on Grant with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Titans have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Branden Medina made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jacob Romo was a standout: he scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Gabe Chacon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Antelope is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Grant is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Antelope is set to take on their familiar foe Kennedy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Grant will challenge rival West Park at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
