Baseball Recap: Marmion Wins Going Away Against Rochelle

Marmion gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past the Rochelle Hubs 12-4. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Ryan Blakeslee looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Matthew Tulley was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Flores, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Marmion lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Marmion's victory bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Rochelle, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Marmion will head out on the road to take on St. Laurence at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Cadets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rochelle, they will host Rockford Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something the Hubs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
