The Madison Mohawks will head out on the road to square off against the Oakwood Lumberjacks at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Madison has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Monday, Madison came up short against Arcanum and fell 53-44.
Meanwhile, Oakwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chaminade Julienne Catholic. While losing is never fun, Oakwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Chaminade Julienne Catholic is ranked 109th).
Madison's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Oakwood, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
Madison took their victory against Oakwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 58-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
